Every child starts by booking their regular age-appropriate trial class.
Interested in Troupe? Book that same age-appropriate trial class and add the $25 Troupe audition fee during checkout. The audition cannot be purchased without its corresponding trial class.
Come prepared, not perfect
Materials and preparation instructions are emailed before class. Enthusiasm and a willingness to participate matter more than perfection.

Troupe Audition and Private Coaching
The audition is a supportive 15-minute private coaching session—not simply a pass-or-fail performance. It gives our teaching team a focused opportunity to understand the student's preparation, skills, and response to direction.
4:00–6:30 p.m.
Auditions take place during this window on every trial-class day. Families reserve a place, not an individual appointment time, and TADA determines the order on the day.

What happens during a trial class, and how long is it?
A trial class runs for 1.5 hours. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in and get settled. Every trial follows the same sequence: introductions and teacher performances, warm-up activities, learning a song and dance, a group performance for parents, and a snack. Parents must remain onsite throughout the class.
Does my child need previous experience?
No previous experience is required. For students interested in Troupe, experience in singing, dancing, or acting is highly recommended but not mandatory. We do our best to make space for talented and motivated students regardless of experience level. Trial-class material is adaptable, allowing teachers to adjust it to best support each group.
How much preparation is expected before the trial?
Preparation materials are emailed immediately after registration. They include a lyric sheet, practice track, karaoke track, and background information about the song. At least one 15-minute preparation session is required; two separate 15-minute sessions are highly recommended. Students interested in Troupe must also prepare an individual song and monologue according to the audition package and information.
Can parents stay and watch the class?
Parents remain onsite during the trial and move to the waiting room, where they can learn more about the school. Everyone is invited to watch the final group performance, and photos and videos are encouraged.
My child is interested in Troupe—what should we book?
Always book the regular trial class for your child's age and indicate Troupe interest during registration. The regular trial is the group portion of the audition. The individual coaching audition takes place between 4:00 and 6:30 p.m. and has a $25 audition fee per student. It must be purchased with its corresponding trial class in the original checkout. Primary students requesting special consideration for Junior Troupe also pay the audition fee. Troupe interest is not offered for Pre-Primary registrations.
Does booking a trial commit us to the full program?
No. A trial is completely standalone and does not reserve a place in the regular program. If your child continues, the $22 trial-class subtotal is deducted from tuition; the tax paid on the trial is not credited. TADA will send an expanded registration form and help your family get set up in the parent portal.
What happens after the trial class?
Families receive individual feedback and a recommended placement directly after the trial class. Only Troupe decisions are communicated later, within 24 hours, using your preferred contact method. Families can indicate that they want to continue in person or through any TADA communication channel. Registration remains open until September 7; later registration may be available with a $25 plus HST late fee. A place is not confirmed until the one-third semester tuition deposit is received.
Can we cancel, reschedule, or receive a refund?
Cancel more than 48 hours before the scheduled trial-class start for a full refund of the trial and audition fees paid. Within 48 hours, the payment is retained, but TADA will offer one reschedule and transfer the existing trial and audition payments to the replacement date. After that reschedule, the registration cannot be refunded or moved again. No-shows are not refundable and do not receive a reschedule. Spend 15 focused minutes, twice
Most students respond well by listening to the track, reading along with the lyrics if they are able, and eventually singing along as they become more familiar. Two separate practice sessions are more effective than one larger session.

Students do not need to be perfect, their enthusiasm and willingness are enough.
