1. Who we are
This policy explains how Theatre Arts & Dance Academy ("TADA," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information through our website, registration processes, communications, and programs.
Our studio is located at 333 Denison Street Unit 1, Markham, Ontario, L3R 2Z4. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to mailbox@tadamusical.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how a family interacts with TADA, we may collect:
- parent or guardian names, email addresses, telephone numbers, and preferred contact methods;
- student names, ages, birth dates, program selections, attendance, experience, and placement information;
- allergy, medical, accessibility, disability, and accommodation information voluntarily provided for safe participation;
- emergency-contact and authorized-pickup information;
- registration, agreement, payment-status, refund, credit, and transaction-reference records;
- messages, inquiries, feedback, and other communications with TADA;
- Interest List preferences, consent records, and reasons a current program was not a fit;
- photographs, audio, or video where a family has provided the applicable permission; and
- limited technical information such as page visits, referring pages, browser type, device type, approximate location, and website performance measurements.
TADA does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers through this website. Card information is entered into the payment provider's secure checkout.
3. Why we collect and use information
We use personal information to:
- answer inquiries and recommend suitable programs;
- process registrations, payments, refunds, credits, and rescheduling requests;
- manage class capacity, attendance, auditions, placements, and parent-portal setup;
- support student health, safety, accessibility, and participation needs;
- send confirmations, preparation materials, schedule changes, reminders, and other program communications;
- send program news and promotional emails where a person has joined the TADA Interest List or where otherwise permitted by law;
- maintain business, financial, consent, and safeguarding records;
- protect the website, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot service problems; and
- understand website traffic and performance so we can improve the family experience.
Joining the TADA Interest List is optional and is not a condition of registration. When a person selects the optional Interest List box on a registration form, or submits the standalone Interest List form, we record the consent wording, source, and date as evidence of express consent. That consent continues until the person unsubscribes or otherwise withdraws it.
If the optional box is not selected, TADA will still send messages needed to complete or administer the registration. We may also send relevant promotional emails when another legal basis permits it, including time-limited implied consent arising from an existing business relationship. We do not treat one guardian's choice as consent for another guardian's email address.
4. Children and parent or guardian consent
TADA primarily collects student information from a parent or legal guardian. By registering a student, the parent or guardian confirms that they have authority to provide the information and permissions required for that student's participation.
We ask families to provide only information relevant to registration, placement, communication, safety, accessibility, and program delivery.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We may share information with service providers only as reasonably necessary for them to provide services to TADA. These providers include:
- Vercel for website hosting, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights;
- Supabase for database and application infrastructure;
- Helcim for secure payment processing;
- Resend for transactional and authorized promotional email delivery; and
- Cloudflare Turnstile for automated-abuse and spam protection.
Service providers may process information in Canada or other jurisdictions where they or their infrastructure operate. Information may therefore be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to an emergency, to protect a person's safety, to investigate fraud or misuse, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. TADA does not sell personal information.
6. Website analytics and technical information
TADA uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand page views and general traffic patterns, and Vercel Speed Insights to measure real-world website performance. These tools are used for aggregate website improvement and not to build advertising profiles.
The website may use essential browser storage or similar technologies required for security, forms, payments, and basic operation. If TADA later introduces advertising or other non-essential tracking, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required for that use.
7. Safeguards
TADA uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Measures include access controls, secure service providers, encrypted network connections, restricted staff access, and payment processing that keeps complete card details outside TADA's application systems.
No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe information has been accessed or disclosed improperly, please contact us promptly.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including program administration, safeguarding, dispute resolution, and legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping requirements. Retention depends on the type and sensitivity of the information and the reason it was collected.
When information is no longer required, TADA will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it, subject to legal and operational requirements.
9. Access, correction, withdrawal, and complaints
A parent, guardian, or other individual may ask to access or correct their personal information, withdraw consent where applicable, or request deletion, subject to legal and contractual limits. Send requests to mailbox@tadamusical.com. We may need to verify the requester's identity and authority before responding.
Withdrawing information that is necessary for safety, payment, or program administration may prevent TADA from continuing to provide the related service. Questions or complaints will be reviewed and answered as promptly as reasonably possible.
Promotional emails include an unsubscribe option. Unsubscribing from promotional emails does not stop essential registration, payment, schedule, safety, or program-administration messages.
10. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services, or legal obligations change. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page. We will provide additional notice where a material change requires it.
